Flute Lessons in Arlington Heights, IL
One-on-one flute instruction for kids, teens, and adults at The Arlington School of Music — in person at our downtown Arlington Heights studio or online.
Flute and piccolo lessons at The Arlington School of Music are taught by Kristin Gorski, Head of our Woodwind & Brass Department. Lessons focus on the fundamentals that make flute playing rewarding — embouchure, breath support, tone color, articulation, and phrasing.
Many of our flute students are school band musicians working toward better chair placements, honor bands, and solo & ensemble contests; others are beginners of any age discovering the instrument. Every lesson is one-on-one and paced to the student.
Students come to our downtown Arlington Heights studio from across the Northwest Suburbs, and online lessons are available.

What age can a child start flute?›
Most students begin around ages 9–11, often alongside school band. Curved-head flutes make the instrument manageable for smaller players, and teen and adult beginners are always welcome.
Can lessons help my child make honor band?›
Yes. Our woodwind department head regularly prepares students for chair auditions, honor bands, and solo & ensemble contests with targeted work on audition material.
Do you also teach piccolo?›
Yes — piccolo instruction is available for flutists who double, which is common for advancing band students.
