Our Instructors

Each instructor is a concert artist and performs regularly at well-known venues in and around the Chicago area. Many have performed both nationally and internationally.


Scott HendricksScott Hendricks
Piano, Electronic Keyboard, Electric Guitar and Bass, Harmonica, and Mandolin

As a teacher at Arlington School of Music since 1995, his passion for music extends to his teaching. His supportive style emphasizes theory, technique and intuitive understanding of musical patterns.

Scott currently performs with The Volcanoes Band.

Piano Teacher

Lisa Modrzejewski is a piano teacher with the Arlington School of Music. She earned a music degree with an emphasis in Piano Pedagogy from Trinity International University, Deerfield, IL in 2007.

Woodwind and Brass Teacher

Joining the Arlington School of Music in 1991, Tim Bourne provides instructions in woodwind and brass instruments. His students range from elementary school through adult, and represent all levels of skill.

Tom CorraoTom Corrao
Drums/Percussion

I have over 20 years of experience as a professional drummer and teacher. I studied at the Stanger School of Music under the direction of Phillip Stanger and with James Staimason at the Gianinni music arts school.
I teach throughout the northwest suburbs as well as my own studio in Elgin, IL.

Martin PazdiochMartin Pazdioch
Master Teacher of Voice

Martin Pazdioch, a native of Des Plaines, IL, has been a professional singer and voice teacher for over twenty years, and has students singing professionally throughout the country. You can order his CD's and hear. mp3 samples of both these recordings by visiting Giffitz Records

Michael ToolesMichael Tooles
Percussionist/Drummer

Michael Tooles attended the University of Memphis and studied percussion under Dr. Frank Schaffer and drum set with Brian Fullen. In 1994 he stated playing with Seven Four Slide. Seven Four Slide is what brought him to Chicago in 1998, but not before recording his first full-length CD and performing with Jeff Buckley before his untimely death.

Gabriel HwangGabriel Hwang
Master Violin Teacher (Violin/Viola)
Conductor/Concert Violinist


Hwang began his music education in piano and violin at the age of five. He progressed to vocal and instrumental studies. At the age of sixteen, young Hwang made his official debut conducting the entire score of Handel's Messiah from memory.

Hwang is an acting member in the Prestige Management LLC, New York.

Tenor Michael Burgess is a freelance voice and guitar instructor, and vocal coach, in the Chicago area. He is a versatile professional singer and performer, equally prominent in classical, musical theater, and popular and rock venues.
